Honeywell Opens 2nd R&D Arm in Bangalore

The $50 million facility, with laborotary facility, simulators and training centres, is the company's second facility in Bangalore and can accomodate 3,000 personnel.

US-based Honeywell technologies Solutions (HTS), on Thursday, opened a new research, development and engineering facility here.

The $50 million facility, with laborotary facility, simulators and training centres, is the company’s second facility in Bangalore and can accomodate 3,000 personnel.

Briefing reporters, Honeywell Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dave Cote said, “We are committed to India as a manufacturing location, export hub and as a centre of engineering and R&D excellence. Our presence has grown from 1,000 employees in 2002 to more than 10,000 today. We look forward to continuing our growth in India and building our capabilities here,” he added.

Further, Honeywell is collaborating with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to produce TPE331 aircraft engines in India, the company said. It is also pursuing a programme to re-engine IAF’s strike aircraft Jaguar with its F125IN turbofan engine.
