The Southern Command Investiture Ceremony will be organised on January 15 which also happens to be the Army Day at the Madras Engineer Group and Centre.

The last such celebration was held at Mumbai and after a considerable period, the honour has come to Bangalore.

The Investiture Ceremony is a function in which army-men will be awarded for gallantry and distinguished services. The gallant soldiers, who have made the supreme sacrifice, will be represented by their next of kin, a release stated.

The units which have excelled will also be awarded ‘Unit Citations’ on the occasion. A total of 57 awards will be presented by Lieutenant General AK Singh, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Southern Command, Pune.
