All things Chinese!
Beauty
parlours and Chinese restaurants are the toast of Bangalore,
and there is always a talk of how close the cultures and civilisations
of India and China are. The Delhi based Kottons 'N'
Krapes treated the city to a range of Chinese artecrafts
and decorative pieces at the 'Chinese Exhibition-cum-sale'
held in past. Beautiful showcase pieces, utilitarian articles
like umbrellas, purses, miniature dolls, handmade purses, jewellery
boxes, and Chinese fans were on display. The show was just what
connoisseurs were asking for.
There were beautiful wall hangings, which included 'embedded
butterflies' and 'embedded scorpions'. The craft is unique.
Colourful butterflies and scorpions have be en
embedded into the dew like cotton and photo-framed. Chinese
Purses, handmade with pearl-like beads, caught the eye with
their glitter. Another attraction was the bed and table linen,
all reportedly made in China, that were on sale.
The Panacea Jewels
At another gallery at the Safina Plaza, Noida-based Panacea
Jewellers exhibited
hand-crafted, gold-plated silver ornaments embedded with precious
stones. It drew crowds, especially ladies with a penchant for
fashionable jewellery. Traditional temple jewellery was also
on sale. Mohammed Akhtar, the Sales-in-charge at the
jewels exhibition, told bangalorebest.com that the company
has been holding such shows in Bangalore for the past ten years.
If things are happening in the city, you can be sure most of
them are happening at Safina Plaza. So, be on the look out!
