Have you ever wondered how Christmas is celebrated
in our country? Do they put

Bangalore, the lively city, is also gearing up for the
coming Christmas bash. The festive mood is catching on and a
lot of people can be spotted shopping for Christmas. While you
have a few well-known retail outlets that stock wonderful items,
others that are less conspicuous have lovely, unusual things
to offer. Elan, a boutique on Richmond Road is one of
the latter. Asha Fernandez, the owner, is holding an
exhibition-cum-sale of Christmas decorations at Elan. 
"There is a personal touch to all the things here, as each
article is hand-made by me. 'Elan' was set up just five months
ago and the business is slowly picking up," says a confident
Asha.
Christmas wreathes in gold, silver and green,
centre table pieces, silver-gold bells, candy sticks,
cute colored magnets for the kitchen, gift boxes,
teddy bears in various sizes and colours are all available
here at very affordable rates.
Asha, who is a Diploma holder in Fashion Designing from
J D Fashion Institute, has used stuff available locally,
like wood, cane and jute, to create these Christmas items .
She has also used a lot of bamboo, imported and Indian felt
ribbons for the decoration pieces. The prices of the gift
items range between Rs 25 to Rs 450. Asha also undertakes
decorations for Christian weddings.
Elan is just the place to do some of your Christmas shopping.
You are bound to find things here that are unavailable elsewhere
in the city.
