Hipp John" written on a very old Victorian sty le
piano still makes ethereal reverberations on a stroke, one
of the point of attractions of the shop. The shop also has
unique and ancient Chinese paintings, exuberant imitations
of world famous Raja Ravi Varma paintings, delicate
palm leaf manuscripts and so on. The collection also includes
teak wood tiled tables, intricately carved Mahogany stands,
camphor chests, Chinese ceramic stools, bar units, Iranian
chests, bali wood carvings, ceramics, ancient wooden bowls,
palm leaf paintings, wooden jewel boxes, medicine stands,
magazine stands, shelves, dried flowers and even Bohemian
hand crafted crystals from the Czech Republic.
The
Vintage Shop also bagged the award for the best stall in an
exhibition conducted by society interiors in Kanteerava stadium
in 1999.

"We collect the antiques from different parts of India
and also import some pieces like flower vases from China,
bali wood carvings from Indonesia, and so on. After buying
the things we repair, polish and give it a new look,"
says Amar the proprietor of Vintage Shop.
The price of the furniture ranges from Rs.2000 to Rs. 50,000
and the antique cars are more expensive and cost in the
range of Rs four lakh.
The clients vary from business class people to middle class
families who want to make their home look classy.
