Ideas and Know-how. Hallmark of the garden city, British Council
Library, Bangalore. Established since 1960, it has remained
a friendly network for education, science, technology, culture
and development services. The British council is branched
out with a network of eleven libraries, this being the Council's
largest operation in the world. The libraries in the network
aim to promote partnership between Britain and India by providing
information services of the highest British professional standards.
The British library in Bangalore was established in 1960,
and ever since it has been offering a range of services namely:
Lending books/journals/training videos,
Reference services, On-line Public Access Catalogue, Information
about Britain
On-line access, indev (Development Network for NGOs)
World Bank Information, Educational Counselling, Service Information
about British examinations, Book promotion - book displays,
fairs etc.
Proactive information service to opinion formers and decision
makers
The Library Timings are: Monday to Saturday 10.30 am to 6.30
pm and the membership charges and borrowing details are as
follows:
