Spice Telecom, the quality cellular service provider, started its operations in April 1997. Today it is the largest cellular service provider in Karnataka covering 80% of geographical area in the state. Spice Telecom has 13 offices other than the Head office in Bangalore.

The company's service covers the state with 131-cell sites, one switch and 10 BSCs. The company has laid 1,250 kms of optic fiber cable in Karnataka. Spice Telecom has a customer base of 1,10,000 as of February 2001.
