Wireless Digital Communications (WDC) Solutions, a
pioneer in the field of innovative communication technologies
has announced the release of two mile stones -Sync Express
and Space Bridge, which offers automatic synchronisation
of data and interoperability respectively on multiple wireless
devices.
SynExpress makes management of information on mobile
devices seamless while SpaceBridge enables wireless
connection between mobile phone, laptops, PDAs (Portable Digital
Assistants) and desktops. SynExpress provides one-stop wireless
synchronisation of content between multiple information sources
including notebooks, desktop PCs, cellular phones and similar
mobile devices.
Space Bridge is a protocol host stack that enables
wireless connections between devices such as laptops, PDAs,
mobile phones, LAN access points, digital cameras and headsets.
SpaceBridge implements multiple protocol specifications, including
the host layers of the Bluetooth specifications version 1.01b.
The company also develops generic wireless protocol stacks
and works with clients to provide application level integration
services for wireless devices. The service includes architecting,
developing and integrating solutions.
The products are slated to be released into the open market
by the end of April, 2001, said Manju S Murthy, one
of the two founder directors of WDC solutions
at a press conference. Manju S Murthy was working as a senior
consultant at Ernst and Young, USA, and has vast international
experience in product development and management. An engineer
by profession, Manju holds an MBA degree in Finance from the
University of Houston, USA.
"We undertake projects, which involve developing and
licensing a complete range of wireless software solutions
in the form of intellectual property. Currently, WDC is working
with Bluetooth protocol as well as other protocols such as
Wireless LAN, GPRS, EDGE AND UMTS," said Arun Acharya,
the other founder director of the company. Prior to
starting WDC Solutions, he was working as Consultant with
leading firms such as SAP, Arthur Andersen and TCS. Arun is
a Chartered Accountant by profession.
WDC Solutions' business model is quite simple. It minimises
product development risks through the building of an eco-system
of alliances with wireless vendors and solutions providers.
WDC has acquired an alliance with Cambridge Silicon
Radio Limited (CSR), UK, which is a pioneer in creating the
first truly integrated single-chip Bluetooth system.
WDC Solutions was the sole Indian participant at the Cellular
Telecommunications and Internet Association wireless-2001
("CTIA wireless") convention held from 20th to 22nd
March at Bluetooth pavilion in Las Vegas .
