The
curtains have come down on the 6th annual BangaloreIT.COM
2003, Asia's largest information and Communications Technology
event initiated by the Government of Karnataka in partnership
with Software Technology Parks of India (STPI).
The five day technology fair held between November 01-05
2003, at the picturesque Palace Ground in Bangalore, brought
together technology companies from across the globe and helped
them network with technology leaders in India. This year the
Bangalore IT.COM became bigger and better as it was spread
over 20,000 sq.mts of space with 10 pavilions. The event brought
together 285 participants from around the globe, which included
120 foreign companies. The total number of visitors excluding
the last day was about
1, 45,000 of which 40,000 were business visitors. And for
the first time the event also witnessed over 700 foreign visitors
as against 300 last year.
Bangalore
IT.COM 2003 was also host to a series of conferences and discussions
which detailed the important aspects and key business issues
in the IT sector. Mr. B V Naidu, director Software
Technology Parks of India, Bangalore (STPI-B), said that
there were about 1700 delegates who attended the conference
this year as against 1500 last year. Also among the star attractions
was the STPI pavilion, as it showcased a conglomeration of
large and small organizations, engaged in IT export under
the umbrella of STPI.
 The
event concluded on November 5th creating a greater platform
for IT & BPO companies by enabling them to identify new
areas of growth, both in India as well as globally.
