It
was a chance to view cutting edge technology and design in Bangalore.
Apple Computer Pvt. Ltd, the company that ignited the computer
revolution in the 1970s, had organised an Expo to showcase its
award winning products such as the Titanium PowerBook and the
iMac and a lot more at the Hotel Atria on March 1, 2001.
The Apple Expo served as a reminder to all technology and design
enthusiasts that Apple's products still remain at the pinnacle
of all computer technology and design solutions. The Expo also
aimed to bring valued customers into contact with its entire
product range. Products such as the recently introduced PowerMac
G4, the Cube and iBooks were on display.
A noteworthy record here was the presence of solutions with
the Mac being the centre. The Expo had six different technology
solutions portrayed built around the Mac. The Mac and the Operating
system as is known is the most easy to use of all computers
and serves as a mode to exuberate the user's creativity.
India's most comprehensive Macintosh OS event, The Apple Expo
was the showcase for products and services geared to professionals
involved in media and creative content development for corporate
and home applications, and consumers using the Mac at home.
The Apple Expo brought together the loyal base of Mac OS audiences
in creative services, education, application development, entertainment,
small office/home office and Internet-based environments.
The Apple Expo offered professionals and consumers alike the
opportunity to discover the latest developments and hottest
products these markets offer. Multiple solutions programs cover
beginning and advanced uses of the Mac. The Mac centric solutions
offer a technology-intensive professional
development series for Macintosh design, management and networking
professionals.
As is synonymous with the prefixed "i", which stands
for the Internet, Apple, with its products intends to have consumers
logged on to the Internet with as little effort as possible.
All Apple computers are equipped with the Mac OS 9, iMovie 2,
QuickTime, an optical mouse, an internal modem, a CD-ROM drive,
FireWire Port and 500 MHz Power PC G3 processors.
An added incentive to all of the products is the eye-appealing
range of colors that Apple's products come in instead of the
plain beige boxes of yesteryears. Apple executives will be on
hand to demonstrate the unique features of Apple's products
and software.
"The Apple Expo is India's answer to the MacWorld and is
to be held in nine key cities across the country through February
and March," said Naren Ayyar, MD, India and SAARC countries,
Apple Computer International Pvt Ltd. "The products of
Apple have been known for its wide versatility, user friendliness
and creative use and now will be on showcase, all set to grab
their attention."
The first of the Apple Expos was kicked off from Allahabad on
the 12th of February 2001 and then moved on to Jaipur and Indore
for the month of February. The expo will be held in Mumbai,
New Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad during the month of March.
