An Electrical Engineer with an MBA from the Asian Institute
of Management, took over as President, Wipro Infotech
in 1984, leading its phenomenal growth. He spearheaded the
joint ventures with The Acer of Taiwan and The British
Telecom of UK. He was adjudged the 'Electronics Man of
the Year - 1992. by Elcina and Information Technology
Man of the Year 1994 by Dataquest. In August 1999,
Ashok Soota, along with Subrato Bagchi,N.
Krishna Kumar and six others, (all ex-Wiproites), with the
help of venture capital funding, formally floated 'Mind
Tree Consulting Ltd'. The company provides e-commerce
& Telecommunication solutions to Fortune 500 companies.
Atul Vijaykar Atul
Vijaykar, 45 assumed the role of Director-South Asia
from June 1, 1997 and is responsible for the emerging markets
in India since July1,1995. Vijaykar has been with Intel
for 19 years and has extensive experience in a broad spectrum
of disciplines such as finance, operations management and business
development. Prior to his current assignment, Vijaykar was the
Business Development Manager in the Microprocessor Products
Group at Intel's headquarters in Santa Clara, U.S.A.
Som Mittal Som Mittal, an engineer from IIT, Kanpur, an MBA from
IIM, Ahmedabad, started his career in finance, moving to
information technology, after a stint in the automotive
industry. With an outstanding track record in effective crisis
management, he managed to turn around Digital, India within
four months of taking over the reins.
