V Jagdeesh is the co-founder and Chief Technical
Officer of Exodus Communications, which was founded
in 1994 and whose market capitalization is over 22 billion dollars
today. Exodus pioneered the Internet Data Centre market,
and is Business Week's 11th rank holder of its "Hottest
of the Hot" information technology industries of 1999. Exodus
is a principal provider of complex Internet server hosting and
offers key sophisticated solutions to a growing number of companies,
catering to about 40% of worldwide Internet traffic.
Their clients are a veritable who's who of the world's leading
companies. IT entrepreneur extraordinaire, B V Jagdeesh has
spearheaded the funding of about 16 start-ups in the US, four
in India, and remains passionate about a great idea and a solid
business plan. He is a member of The Indus Entrepreneurs
(TiE) and together they have started a social movement to
create wealth in India. He is committed to his community, his
alma maters and to encouraging global development of opportunities.
Though his educational background is in electrical engineering
and not software, he co-founded FOURESS in 1994, which
evolved into Exodus communications. He is extremely proud of
his alma maters - a village school in Bagalur, Sheshadripuram
High School, National College, University Visvesvaraya College
of Engineering, located in and around Bangalore, and
VJTI, Mumbai. He lives by the credo that ultimately it's
up to the individual and how one frames one's life.
