Tektronix, the market leader in the manufacture of waveform monitors for the video industry, today broadened its video product portfolio with the introduction of a new family of flexible, multi-format waveform monitors which addresses the growing market of digital signal monitoring and measurement requirements, including those for high-definition broadcasting and content creation. Digital technology requires the monitoring and measurement of both high-definition (HD) and standard-definition (SD) serial digital video signals.

The new Tektronix WFM700 family measures and monitors HD and SD digital signals in the same cost-effective, modular platform. The WFM700 is based on a new platform which utilizes full digital processing and comes with an integrated touch screen color display which is 50% larger than traditional CRTs but maintains the high display quality associated with CRTs. Waveform monitors provide feedback on the fidelity of a video signal. They are the primary tools used for performance monitoring and maintenance of video systems and video equipment in post-production facilities, broadcast operations, and manufacturing plants.
