Imagine no batteries, no software, no cables and no external
hardware
requirement to transfer and store data. Image a drive so small
that you can carry it around on a key-chain. It seems all the
above features are packed and condensed in the latest Trek ThumbDrive
Secure. This drive claims to be the smallest in the world.
ThumbDrive uses USB plug-and-play connectivity and shows up
just like any other drive in Windows Explorer, making it all
the more portable. With specified transfer rates of 700 kbs
and 350 kbs for read and write respectively, this drive is an
excellent tool for fast transfers of small files. In real
World tests, this drive took only 56 seconds to copy and 42
seconds to transfer three files of 15 MB each! It scored
high in the test for the reason that the drive has no moving
parts and uses Flash RAM Technology. This drive incorporates
a write protection switch that can be used to secure data against
accidental erase.
Bangalore's Sparrow Electronics Limited is the sole distributor
of
ThumbDrive in India. Company's Managing Director Rajeev Sarda

He said, "We see prospective clients in every computer
user who cares for his data, security wise and speed wise. People
are slowly becoming aware of the product. Many queries and orders

taken care of by a set of fifteen-character password. Rajeev
adds that the product is doing very well in Singapore, the birthplace
of this drive. It is being manufactured by the international
giant Trek
