Activities in India

Transoft's activities centre around Computational Fluid Mechanics (CFD) and Environmental Pollution Analysis. Transoft caters to institutions and industries in India and abroad. The major thrust of this export unit is on the development of CFD software and application of these and other software developed by their collaborators for analysis work for foreign firms. They apply existing numerical techniques to the analysis of fluid, thermal and chemical problems.

Typical problems handled by Transoft are environmental pollution in different areas of the biosphere, explosions, combustion in burners, furnaces and engines, fire and smoke propagation in buildings, open air and forests, flow around airborne, land and marine vehicles, internal flows, heat exchangers, fluid-structure interaction, etc. developed by their collaborators for analysis work for foreign firms. They apply existing numerical techniques to the analysis of fluid, thermal and chemical problems.

Transoft is engaged in the development of the Fluidyn family of CFD codes. This family of codes comprising different modules is designed to assist specialists and non-specialists in CFD in design and analysis of fluid flow applications in Aerospace Engineering.

The next project related to marketing and management is called 'TRI' and is made for Industrial Production Management and Quality Control. It is a full-fledged database satisfying most of the requirements related to confidentiality, reliability and simplicity and is available on all platforms. It has its own inbuilt database.

FUTURE PLANS: Transoft is poised for a steady growth in the field of CFD in the next few years. Transoft plans to enlarge the domain of its environmental software to include effects on organic matter, decay of inorganic matter due to pollution, impact of the release of toxic gases, etc. After achieving substantial growth rates, Transoft plans to diversify into other fields of computational techniques. These include application of parallel computing to the problems of molecular biology, engineering analysis, application of computational techniques to problems in the fields of economics and related areas.
