It
has been a decade for VeriFone India, a fully owned subsidiary
of Hewlett-Packard that is located in the city, operating
in the IT field. The operation is hundred percent export oriented.
VeriFone is part of the VeriFone division within the Software
and Solutions Organisation (SSO) of HP. As the global market
leader in providing secure and integrated e-payment solutions,
VeriFone has provided transaction terminals and software solutions
to over seven million locations in more than one hundred countries.
VeriFone India develops a major portion of the software for
VeriFone payment products. Software developed for VeriFone appliances
include Omni 2000 Developer's Suite, TXO Operating Environment,
TXO Workbench, VeriCentre Appliance Management Suite, VeriTalk,
Mondex POS, PROTON Electronic Purse Application, and Visa
Cash. Software for the VeriFone payments products include
the e-Payment Server (ePS), Pay Works, VeriSmart, vPOS, vGATE
and OmniHost. The R&D for a number of these products, such
as ePS are owned and developed solely in India.
VeriFone is poised to be the dominant player for payments in
the physical, virtual and mobile worlds. VeriFone appliances
enable physical devices for secure e-payment transactions and
services. VeriFone e-commerce software payment applications
and e-services automate and integrate payment processes.
Including VeriFone and India Software Operation (ISO), HP has
a workforce of over 1300 people in India developing software
and solutions for its internal divisions and external customers.
VeriFone and ISO develop complementary products and solutions
that accelerate the delivery of software systems for HP and
its extended enterprise customers.
