Their activities include giving appropriate investment advice, procedural guidance, management, consultation, mergers and acquisitions, process re-engineering studies, impact assessment of socio-economic schemes, valuation of assets for takeovers, critical infrastructurerelated studies, detailed feasibility studies and reports.

For young entrepreneurs, experts from different areas help them with their project ideas through feasibility studies, project reports, market surveys, sourcing of finance, selection of machinery, technology, costing and also providing turn-key assistance.

A Women Cell, to promote entrepreneurship among women was established in 1984. Its activities include training and educational programmes, exhibitions for promotion of products and services provided by women entrepreneurs. At present the officers of Women Cell are engaged in women development activities through Yashaswini, a separate cell created recently by the Government of Karnataka.

They bring out a monthly publication - "Kaigarike Varthe" which gives the latest news and developments of industrial affairs. They also publish Guide to Entrepreneurs, Information Brochures, etc., on a regular basis.

They have clients from various fields, which includes government departments, multinationals, foreign and Indian Non Governmental Organisations, development finance institutions, public and private sector corporations and entrepreneurial individuals.

"We have a meeting in Jharkhand shortly, for the projection of tourism for the next 20 years in the state" said Karanth B.D, Deputy Advisor.

Their focussed consultancy areas include agro-based industries, Information Technology, Energy Management and Audit, Environment and Ecology, Human Resource Development and Tourism.
