Campus track is a surveyed study on the career choices of
upcoming engineering graduates from over twenty of the top
engineering colleges in India.
ORG-MARG's country wide Campus track survey also covered
the perceptions and views of recruiting firms to get a diversified
understanding of the student's choices.
The survey revealed that, 'IT' is still the top career
preference for the emerging stock of engineering students.
Therefore IT companies like Infosys, Wipro, Oracle, McKinsey,
and IBM list on the dream work locations for these students.
The other sectors that attracted their focus included: telecom,
automobile etc.
An amazing insight that popped from the survey revealed that
engineering students actually aspire to see themselves in
a managerial role than being purely restricted to a technical
role. It also made an important observation in terms of their
staying power in a Job. Most students wanted to gain experience
for two years and then pursue specialised education in their
area of interest. This also ranked as the prime reason for
most of them to quit their first job.
