Tourism
in India is a prospective area to explore and develop in a big
way. Keeping this in mind, Christ College Institute of Management
(CCIM) has started the Master of Tourism Administration (MTA)
Course. The Institute's spacious campus is located in the garden
city of Bangalore, in the beautiful environs of Dharmaram College.
The campus is strategically located and gives easy access to
higher academic centres like the Indian Institute of Management,
Indian Institute of Science and reputed business organisations.
The training programme aims at preparing young minds for the
challenging managerial opportunities of the twenty-first century.
The main objective of the training programme in MTA is the development

he MTA programme of CCIM offers not only the Bangalore University
syllabus but also other relevant courses designed by experts
from the industry and MTA faculty(part time and visiting faculty).The
whole course is spread over four semesters. Guest lectures
by experts from the industry, seminars, panel discussions
and workshops are also arranged and this gives a professional
touch to the training programme. Every MTA student has to
undergo a two months' summer internship in a reputed organisation
under faculty supervision after successful completion of the
second semester. Every student has to also present a Project
Thesis which is a year long research conducted during the
III and IV semester. This involves an in depth research study
in a company.
The other unique features of CCIM include a well stocked library,
a computer lab with Internet access, audio-visual facilities,
an air-conditioned seminar hall, panel room, conference hall,
terrace garden and kiosk. As part of the MTA programme the following
activities will also be taken up:
Participation
in the Indian International Travel Mart.
Participation
in the Travel and Tourism fair.
Annual
event EXODUS (a travel and tourism exhibition-cum-cultural meet)
