Bangalore University
offers four types of scholarships for the students of the university.
The scholarship forms are generally available in September-October
every year. The scholarships offered are:
- National scholarship.
- Scholarship for schedule caste (SC) and schedule tribe
(ST) students.
- Scholarship for backward and minority students.
- Scholarship for non-Hindi speaking students.
The
National Scholarship
The National scholarship is based purely on merit. The application
form has to be submitted to the head of the institution or
to the department that the student has joined. This application
form, along with the report of the department, is then forwarded
to the Director of Collegiate Education of the state from
which the student has passed the last University Examination.
SC/ST
Scholarship
Those students willing to avail the SC/ST scholarship must
forward their application to the Bangalore District Social
Officer. This scholarship is given to all the SC/ST students
who apply. You are also required to submit your family income
certificate along with the application.
Backward
and Minority Scholarship
Students willing to avail the backward and minority scholarship
have to submit their application to the Bangalore District
Officer. Family income certificate is to be appended along
with the application.
The amount for various scholarships depends upon the decision
made by the Ministry of Education, Government of Karnataka.
Scholarship
for non-Hindi speaking students
Scholarship for the students of non-Hindi speaking states
is to be submitted to the head of the department. Forms are
available only with the Administrative Officer, Student's
Welfare Block, Bangalore University.
