Sage, Inc. designs, develops and markets high performance display processors used in digital displays. Our integrated semiconductor solutions are compatible with existing personal computers and display monitors, and emerging display
devices, including flat panel monitors, flat panel televisions, DVDs, projection devices, digital cathode ray vacuum tube
displays, Internet appliances and touch-screen displays used in retail and industrial settings. With the acquisition, in June
2000, of Faroudja Labs, the world's premier Video display processor, the Combined company has now amassed all the
critical IP, engineering know-how, and technology components necessary to establish a dominating position across the
entire converging world of display. Sage's IC design skills, mass market channels and expertise in digital image processing
for the desktop are complemented by Faroudja's expertise in algorithm development and motion video displayprocessing
for the world of TV and consumer display products.

Digital displays have substantial advantages over traditional analog displays. Digital displays offer a more compact form factor, generate less heat, consume less power and produce less radiation. All displays require that incoming display signals be processed in order to display images, and there are more than 100 different varieties of display signals in use today. Display manufacturers seek display processing solutions that can function effectively with the large number of existing and emerging analog and digital signals, ensure the compatibility of new displays with the large installed base of personal computers, or PCs, and provide consumers with plug and play capability.

We offer a family of state-of-the-art digital display processor ICs that provide highly integrated analog-to-digital conversion, signal reformatting and color processing capabilities. We intend to integrate various sub-sets of Faroudja's high-end technology into our chip level digital display processors and market these products through our existing channels, thereby bringing home theater quality experience to the mass market at affordable prices. Our solutions are designed with a common architecture, configurable software and modular components that can be easily and rapidly incorporated into digital display devices. We sell our IC products to leading display manufacturers, including Fujitsu and NEC. Other customers include Sony, Sanyo,and Samsung. We also offer a range of premium Faroudja branded "box-level" video display processing solutions to home theater and digital broadcast markets. Our home theater and digital broadcast products are sold through a network of international dealers and distributors.

In order to grow our company into a dominant world provider of digital display processing solutions we have focussed on developing leading edge technology to improve cost/performance, and ease-of-use. Our technology achievements include the first fully integrated display processor chip, the fully effective automatic display adjustment feature ("autoset"), the first integrated mode detection, reformatting, color depth processing and customized on-screen displays, the first to offer Active Color Management, and first to offer automatic picture-in-picture differential brightness enhancement.
