The Consortium of Electronic Industries of Karnataka was
founded in in 1982. At present, it has about 200 members.
The member industries range from tiny units to well-established
large units which manufacture a variety of products, from
resistors and capacitors to defence and strategic electronics.
CLIK provides its members a platform to interact with each
other and assist in developing technology and skills and enlarging
market reach. It is also a forum whereby electonic industries
get to interact with the Government. CLIK's primary aim is
to promote the Electronic Industry through the pooling of
skills and experience of its Members in a voluntary effort.
It is supported by State and Central Government Departments.
CLIK assists its members in the following way:
- Informing them about business opportunities
- Sourcing of raw materials or components
- Marketing their products
- Sourcing technology
- Training in skill improvement
- Advice on Government-related interaction
- Group participation of Members in Electronic Trade Fairs
and Exhibitions in India and abroad.
- Has promoted CLIXPORT, a Merchant Exporter Company to
promote export of electronic products, particularly from
Member Industries.
- Established the Trade and Technology Centre for Electronics
at Bangalore, with assistance from Karnataka Government,
to facilitate trade, particularly with foreign buyers and
suppliers, and provide the necessary technology support.
- Conducts programmes for Skill and Technology Upgradation.
- Establishment of a comprehensive Data Bank
- Organising Electronic Exhibitions
- Arranging Technical and Managerial Consultancy.
- Facilitation meetings with visiting foreign Electronic
Industry Delegations
- Publication of a Directory of Electronic Industries in
Karnataka.
- Representation on a number of Government Advisory Bodies.
