Bang aloreans
got more than what they expected out of the Bryan Adams
show. The Canadian rock star had every one of the 35,000 strong
crowd singing to his tunes. And when the show was over, his
fans were left craving for more.
The show began at around 8:30 pm and the euphoric fans took
in every rendition of unquestioningly - some of his best
- "Summer of '69," "Let's Make A Night
To Remember," "The Only Thing That Looks Good On
Me Is You," and one of his best ever ballads -
"(Everything I do), I Do It For You".
The show was a two-way love affair from the word go. Bryan
and his group, consisting of Mike Curry on the drums
and Keith Scott on the guitars, meted out their tracks
as if it were a live CD playing, and the crowd in turn lapped
it all up in pure joy. It was particularly delightful when
the trio played every one of the numbers from Bryan's latest
album "Best Of Me."
The energy among the crowd was almost electric and as
Sushma Sanil, a software professional, puts it "dressed
in white like an angel, Bryan took the hearts of Bangaloreans
like a storm." We are sure he did.
But th e
lucky girl of the night was a Delhiite, Akanksha, who
had the privilege of sharing the stage with Bryan. She sang
along with Bryan and when she was hugged by him, sighs let
out of 20,000 odd female fans in the crowd was clearly audible.
When the show came to an end at around 10:30 pm, Bryan had
a compliment waiting for the exuberant Bangalore crowd -I
never expected something like this, he said, making
it all the more worthwhile for the people, who had just had
a once in a lifetime experience.
Earlier in the evening, many thought the rain gods would
prove to be merciless and play truant. Thankfully, their apprehensions
were unfounded and the show went on as per schedule.
The concert in Bangalore was held
in support of Child Relief and You (CRY).
