His Aparichita and Anubhava, both comedy thrillers, made Kashinath dear toKashinath Kannada cinema audience. The film ran for 100 days. It was hailed by press and public alike. In Anubhava, Kashinath played the role of the protagonist. It is a comedy oriented love story and ran for 33 weeks and proved that a film could be a success even with new comers. "Aparichita won several awards and was sent to the Milan Film festival in Italy as well," Kashinath told bangalorebest.com.

Kashinath, who has created a niche for himself as a comedy hero, producer and director, is back after a short break. This time it is his Kannada and Telugu bi-lingual film, which is under production and yet to be titled. Kashinath's films provide wholesome entertainment. At the same time, his films passes on meaningful social messages.

Kashinath,
though born in a village near Kundapur in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka, spent his childhood in different places as his father was a business man. He is a science graduate and was aspiring to become a scientist. But his fascination with the film world got him into acting. Later, he also took up the direction and production of films. When he decided to step into films, his family warned him about the unacquainted field but still supported him. He produced his first film, Aparoopada Athithigalu, a full length comedy film with a wholly new cast and new technicians.

He set a blazing trend with his second comedy thriller, Aparichita, which ran for 100 days and won several awards too. The film was sent to the Milan Film festival in Italy as well. His third venture, Beshaque in Hindi, gave him an in depth insight into the possible hindrances to film making. Avale Nanna Hendthi is another blockbuster of Kashinath. He has acted in 31 films so far.

His own film, Ananthana Avanthara, a comedy film based on honeymoon neurosis, made in 1989, was a controversial film. It ran for 100 days and was dubbed into all south Indian languages and Hindi. Ajagajantara, produced, directed and acted by him, ran for 26 weeks. With his film Hendathi Endare Heegirabeku, he added to his credit lyrics, music and direction also.

He is very concerned about the ever increasing pollution of the Garden city, Bangalore. He has designed a financially viable elevated Tram System that suits Bangalore's narrow roads and is cheaper when compared to the construction of the Elevated Railway or Metro Railway. He also has similar simple scientific thoughts on and solutions for environmental problems like pollution.
