' Music
is the art of thinking with sounds.' Come and lose yourself
in an amazing world of music at Music World on Brigade
Road. It's a place where you can find music for all age groups,
from Indian Classical to Rock and Pop.
Owned by the RPG group, with Dashrath Raman as
its CEO, Music World is one place in Bangalore that music
lovers must visit. Store Head and Manager Ashok Nagarajan
says, "It's a complete shopping experience that we provide,
a touch and feel experience, and we also boast of the best range
in the country in all genre."
Started in June 1999, Music World is an organized music retail
chain with Compact Discs, accessories, VCD's, CD Roms and Cassettes.
They have a huge collection of music of all types in almost
all regional languages. Their clientele is a very mixed one,
from school going kids to corporate houses. "Our service
is very customer friendly as all the tapes and CD's are arranged
in alphabetical order and this allows customers to browse with
ease," says a proud Ashok.
They have a unique 'Chart Busters' featuring the top
10 titles, which include International, Hindi-film, non-film
and regional music rated according to their sales at the Music
World on a weekly basis. Famous international and national personalities
like Lou Bega, Shaan, Jagjit Singh and many more are frequent
visitors to this store and have performed there too! Many local
models like Vidisha Pavate, Music Director Hamsalekha, Actor
Punith Rajkumar, many DJ's, choreographers and CEO's of many
big companies come to shop here. Music World sources music from
other companies and sells it to people.
I s
the CD market growing in India? " Of course, it is!
We only keep genuine products and the actual sale ratio of CD's
and Audio cassettes is 20%: 80 % as of now in India."
Has the private recording of songs affected the business
of music stores? " No, not at all! We are too big
to be affected to by such things. We as a brand are far superior
to anybody else as we are a big chain. The Indian market is
doing pretty well."
The hot favourite numbers as of now are 'Mohabbatein' in Hindi,
'Beatles' in English and 'Now That's What I Call Indi-Pop-Vol
2'. Music World has frequent discount sales. Periodic offers
like shopping with a MasterCard for Rs 500 which fetches
a gift voucher of Rs 50, a 5% discount on Citibank Suvidha
card are the attractive offers of the place. Another new
offer that starts from December 23, 2000, is the Lucky Draw,
where customers can win prizes like a music system and other
wonderful gifts!
Music World has 10 stores in 8 cities all over India and there
are plans to expand further. "Always check for the company
logo, MRP, the print and the inlay card before buying any cassette
or CD. Also, store them in a dust free environment and handle
them with care for a longer life," warns Ashok.
Music buffs need neither season nor reason to hoard CD's and
Cassettes. But if you are looking for a reason, there couldn't
be a better one than the attractive discounts offered by Music
World. .
