An Interview with the latest heart throb of the
Kannada film industry
The
emergence of Sudeep on the Kannada film scene is like
a breath of fresh air. Sudeep Sanjeev has sashayed the
Kannada film industry with his moving performance in his debut
movie "Sparsha".
Born and brought up in Shimoga, Sudeep shifted with his
family to Bangalore later. This good-looking Industrial Production
Engineer, from the Dayanand Sagar College is the
promising new star, joining the bandwagon of Kannada film stars.
This handsome guy likes the colours blue and black, loves junk
food, playing snooker and to be in casuals always. The 27 year
old boy-next-door is a Virgo. In an interview
with bangalorebest.com he spoke about his new ventures
and future plans:
About his entry into the Kannada movies and "Sparsha" he says,
"I was always interested in the creative part of Art. I went
to attend Roshan Taneja's acting classes in Bombay
where I came out of my shyness. There are times when it is very
difficult to act and portray a character in front of so many
unknown people who might be making fun of you during the class
hours. My entry into the Kannada films happened after much struggle.
It all started with Sunil Kumar Desai's film 'Pratyartha'
with Ramesh in the lead role and me as
the supporting actor. This movie got me into the limelight and
I got some kind of recognition. Then "Sparsha" happened and
we all knew with the first shot itself that it is a clean film,
so it had to be appreciated."
His role in "Sparsha" was " well fed into me and I was
totally comfortable working with Sunil Kumar Desai. The character
I played was not a difficult one to play but I was not at all
nervous about the project; I was pretty cool about the whole
thing."
His inspiration for acting are "Aamir Khan and Kamal
Hasan. I have seen all the films of Aamir.
He is so good with each film that he really underplays and brings
out the best of each character he plays. One thing to be kept
in mind always about acting is that never try to imitate anybody
and always try to have your own identity and style."
The actress he would love to work with is "Kajol, I just
love the girl. She is one actress who gets the best performance
out of every artist she works with. She is just amazing!"
About working in Bollywood he says, "I wouldn't want
to do that as I am very comfortable and happy here in the South."
The
most difficult scene from "Sparsha" was "when I was supposed
to run like a train and do what not on the set in tune with
a slow rythm pattern of Sanskrit slokas. I advised the Director
to 'cut' that scene as I was not involved naturally in the scene.
Thank god, the final version of the film did not have that scene!"(Laughs)
About his passion for music he says, "I have been into
music for a long time and my unending passion for music has
inspired me to launch a Hindi Pop album soon, perhaps by the
next summer. I am still working on it, as when I get time out
from my hectic schedule of shooting. I have sung most of the
songs in the album and I have also composed the music and written
the lyrics. I hope people would appreciate my work, the theme
of which is 'Love'. This album is different from
the other albums in terms of the melody."
If he were not an actor, he would be "taking care of
my Hotel Sarovara."
A secret untold to all, "I have a special person
in my life and I love her a lot!"
Frank and open… that's what Sudeep is. He is all set to
create ripples in Kannada filmdom.
