Oyzterbay,
a new jewellery showroom on Commercial Street, is way beyond
just an outlet. It's a fashion statement that promises to
cause ripples in the city's fashion scenario. Their target,
the youth; their designs, just out of this world. So refreshingly
novel are their jewellery pieces that young people will find
them irresistible. Oyzterbay has more than 1000 contemporary
and classic designs to choose from and categorised in four
ranges. The ranges-Neptune, Atlantis, Coral Reef and
The Mermaid- are affordably priced between Rs 500 to
Rs 5000.
Established in June 2000, Oyzterbay is headed by
Vasant Nangia as Chief Executive Officer. The
company is promoted by six Tanishq ex-employees, including
Vasanth Nangia, with a collective experience of 50 years of
retailing consumer brands, including jewellery, in both the
national and international market.
The aim of the company, Nangia said, would be to promote
Oyzterbay as a chain of stores for branded jewellery across
the country. It will have its corporate office in Bangalore.
Oyzterbay is also expected to tap the capital market with
a public offering. The company said it "will mull an
IPO as the industry was large and Oyzterbay wants to chart
aggressive growth strategies.''

silver and are embellished with different kinds of natural
gemstones.
Oyzterbay has its own in-house jewellery designers.
