Boogie Woogie Health Mantra

Santhosh Kumar, Bangalore's renowned fitness instructor is popular especially among Bangalore's beautiful people. Indeed sports person, film stars, techies, models and to be models all of them dance to his tunes. He feels that the only way to remain healthy and fit is by working out and having the right eating habits. Since ten years Santhosh has trained almost four lakh people. The reason for people to flog into his fitness centre is his creativity and recreational techniques. He feels that people feel it monotonous doing the same thing every day, so he brings in a change every day and people feel fresh too.

Being an engineering student he started with a jazz troupe which later came to be known all over Bangalore and he named his fitness centre "Fitness Figurine". Initially he started teaching aerobics in people's homes in 1990, but he was not comfortable with it as he was neither trained nor a qualified instructor. So he received a degree from the Melbourne University. Santhosh chose the fitness profession than the technology profession because he felt that this profession was a very lucrative profession. The fitness awareness for the media came only in 1993-94 but since then there has been no looking back. The fashion industry is also working in his favour as the girls who want to be models go to him.

The reason for this centre to be distinct is aerobics of highest order plus an element of fun added to it. Yoga, kalari, Tai Chi, kick boxing and regular gym are the fitness techniques at his centre. If one drops in to his centre you can see people dancing to all the dance beats be it english, hindi, tamil or telegu. He brings in versatility to his centre by playing songs from other languages also as he doesn't want it to look like a pub or a club where only western music is played plus weight loss of may be even 20 - 25 kgs.

Santhosh's main challenge is to change people's attitude about their fitness, he doesn't want people to consider fitness as a short term programme. He says it is a life long process which will make one look good and feel good and stay healthy throughout their life. He says that in case one is forced to stop his workout then he should continue doing at least swimming, jogging or walking.
