REMOVAL OF FACIAL HAIR

Unwanted facial hair
in women often appear on the upper lip, chin and sides of the face. Before one decides on its removal, ensure that the cause of the hair growth is not hormonal. If the hair growth is not caused by abnormalities, there are a number of options for their removal.

Most women often prefer to tweeze the hair. Overall, this is not the best solution as repeated plucking can cause irritation in the hair follicle and can also result in scarring. Unless you have a few stray hair popping up now and then, keep the tweezer for other times.

Waxing and using depilatory creams are only temporary solutions. Depilatory creams dissolve the hair follicles and are best when used on wide spread areas like the legs, but can be problematic when used on the face as they might cause irritation and also all the hair does not get removed. On the other hand, they are a very expensive option and, moreover, the effect lasts only for two weeks.

Waxing is one of the most popular solutions. It is an effective method of removing upper-lip hair and fine hair on the face, but it is not recommended for the chin area as the hair there tends to be coarse. Waxing can also be problematic for dark skinned women, who sometimes experience discoloration due to irritation and inflammation.

Electrolysis is another way of removal of unwanted hair. But make sure that it is done by an experienced practitioner as it may leave scarring. This is a very expensive affair, though it lasts longer than waxing or using a depilatory cream. Also, make sure that a new needle is used in each session.

Laser hair removal is the latest weapon for hair removal. This works well for both fair skin and dark hair. Before you start on the treatment, check for experts in the field and also check whether you are the perfect candidate for laser removal. Finally, avoid laser treatment around the eyes, on the brow area and in between the eyes. Since, laser can penetrate deeply, this is an area better treated by tweezing, waxing or by electrolysis.

So, carefully choose a method that suits you and get ready with that new look!
