In a constant
quest for excellence through innovation, the Melwani duo have
set the trend, by developing a chain of stores moving from milestone
to milestone, starting with Kids Kemp, then Big Kids Kemp
and finally the fantasy land of Kemp Fort.
Taking you back in time, thirty years ago, a store called Kiddy's
Corner was opened on the bustling Kempegowda Road. This was the
start of the retail revolution taken forward by the entrepreneurial
father-son duo - Vashi Melwani and Ravi Melwani. In
a bid to cater to the ever-changing needs and expectations of consumers,
Big Kids Kemp came into existence. Spread over 20,000 sq ft,
the shop catered to discerning clientele and offered readymade garments,
sarees and children wear. Strategically placed on M G Road, Big
Kids Kemp was the first store to introduce cartoon characters
and complimentary chauffeured shuttle service. Live fashion shows,
piped music and a host of other innovative personalized services greeted
patrons both from Bangalore and across the country, as Big Kids Kemp
soon became a renowned tourist spot associated with the city of Bangalore.
The best however was still to come. A Fantasy castle straight from
the medieval times, with blue and red turrets standing tall in the
winds, spread over 3,00,000 sq ft on the Bangalore Airport
Road. An overwhelming magnificent structure - the Kemp Fort, houses
the World's Largest Saree Store and Toys Kemp - a fantabulous
toy store. Kemp Fort also showcases an extremely wide range of merchandise
including exclusive collections of ready-mades for Men, Women and
Kids. Kemp Fort holds the promise of Big Kids Kemp and many other
special treats.
This success story did not stop here. It continued with the launch
of another mega store, all for men, called Kemperor, which
was inaugurated very recently. This exclusive men's store houses international
brands of clothing for men, accessories, laptops and many other business
accessories too!
With years of innovative growth, meeting with stupendous success,
the Kemp Chain of Stores has entered the next millennium, promising
ever added value for its customer base and creating history in the
world of retailing.
