BANGALORE BISTRO - A place for French-Italian cuisine!

The perfect place for a date- Bangalore Bistro restaurantBangalore, a city with unlimited dreams, warm and friendly people, now has a special place where you can take 'that special person' out for some French and Italian cuisine. It's 'Bangalore Bistro' on Cunningham Road. 'Bistro' means a 'cafe' in French. Initially it was a café but today it is one of the most popular restaurants in Bangalore. Pooja Juneja with her partner Vivek Pandita set-up this place in August 1999.

The ambience of the place is warm and casual in terms of service with very light furniture. There is a blend of the old and the new with the red oxide flooring reminding one of earlier days and the décor in tune with the present. Glowing yellow lamps drop down from the ceiling and throw a warm light on each table. It makes people sitting there feel special. The glass salad bar depicts both the modern and conventional kind of set-up.

The restaurant can accommodate 50 persons at a time. Outside catering orders are also taken. Apart from the main course of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, the place also offers a wide variety of salads, soups and pastas with different sauces to choose from. There are 18 kinds of salads with 5-6 kinds of dressings both for lunch and dinner. The best offers of the place are the Classic French and Italian dishes consisting of Bruston Chicken sizzler and Richmond Chicken Spazzatin. The place stands out from the other places in Bangalore because of the unique names of its dishes. The dishes here bear the names of roads in Bangalore, for instance, St Mark's Coulibiaca, Benson Feulette, Queens Cabbage Rolls, Richmond Chicken, Curly Curzon Chicken and many more! An average vegetarian meal for two costs Rs 300. A non-vegetarian meal for two costs Rs 350 and a buffet for a single person costs Rs 125. The place is also well known for sizzlers, steaks, Iced Tea and Mango Cheesecake. The decorated salad

Celebrities like Vani Ganapathi, John Abraham, Rahul Dravid, Abbas Ali, Chippy Ganjee and Ajit Saldanha are frequent visitors to the place. Bangalore Bistro had very recently arranged a 'sizzler and steak week' for two weeks which had to be extended for another week on public demand. "There is lack of a place like this in Bangalore where personal attention to each customer is given and we do just that" says Pooja Juneja. Junaid from Taj Residency is the Master chef here and is assisted by four cooks and 16 helpers. Connoisseurs of good food, here is one more place to add to your list.
