KKamat Yatrinivas Managing Director, A. S Kamatamat Yatrinivas redefines Karnataka's traditional hospitality. A part of the Kamat chain of restaurants, it specialises in the unique cuisine of North Karnataka. This leading vegetarian hotel is situated in Gandhinagar, one of Bangalore's busy commercial areas.

The term Yatrinivas in Sanskrit means tourist home. Kamat Yatrinivas is an appropriate stopover for those on business, pleasure or religious trips. Built in an area of 1200 sq. meters, its comfortable ambience, courteous staff, tasteful interior decor and subtle charm makes this hotel the right place for those who are particular about where they choose to stay.

Established in 1990 by S P Kamat, who is its Chairman, Kamat Yatrinivas has the distinction of reviving the regional cuisine of North Karnataka. Its rooftop restaurant not only serves delectable meals but also allows you a scenic view of the busy Majestic area. For those who cannot afford to dig deep into their pockets, there is a coffee shop that serves food at very affordable rates from 6 am till midnight.

Kamat Yatrinivas also has a spacious, well furnished Conference Hall that caters to engagement parties, wedding receptionBoard Room for businessmens and birthday celebrations. Their air conditioned Board Room is ideal for corporate meetings and residential conferences (smaller groups).

Accommodation: The Yatrinivas has 57 rooms, of which 19 are air-conditioned and the remaining 38 are non air-conditioned. The Board Room can accommodate 30 persons and the Conference Hall has a seating capacity of 200.

Tariff: It ranges between Rs 700 to Rs 1,500, depending upon the type of room.

Other facilities: Satellite Television, running hot and cold water, travel service, direct dial phone, doctor on call, safe deposit lockers, car rentals, acceptance of credit cards. Room service is available from 6 am to 11 pm.

Kamat Yatrinivas in GandhinagarKamat Yatrinivas has expanded by acquiring Kamat Lodge (under renovation) on J.C Road, Kamat Restaurant at Abids, Hyderabad, Kamat Lokaruchi (a wayside hotel serving regional cuisines) at Ramanagar and Kamat Nandanvan (garden restaurant) at Jalahalli.

The staff comprises 500 dedicated, experienced workers. Managing Director of Kamat Yatrinivas, Anantrai Sheshagiri Kamat, told bangalorebest.com that the hotel's daily turnover is Rs 1.5 lakhs. Expansion plans are on the anvil. The hotel also intends to establish motels and restaurants on highways. The planned motels would cater to truck and lorry drivers, who can dine there and take rest on their way. Such a motel by Kamat Yatrinivas has opened near Kolar, he said. Another three motels are to come up in the near future in Karnataka, he added.
