PLANTATIONS AND VAASTU

Gardens also have a role to play when vaastu is concerned. According to vaastu every house should have a garden with pleasing plants. Plants emit positive and negative vibrations based on the location and the directions they are placed.

Following are a few guidelines as to which are the ideal spots for keeping plants or gardens:

  • North is considered to be the direction of health and wealth. It is therefore advisable to grow green plants like Tulsi, coriander or even money plants in the northern part of the garden.

  • East is associated with the sun and is considered to be the direction of growth. Yellow and green plants and flowers are suitable in this direction. Never grow tall trees as they block the early morning sunrays.

  • South is considered to be the ideal direction to grow tall trees as it will stop negative vibrations coming from this direction.

  • West is the ideal direction to grow plants coloured with white, light blue and violet to ward off negative vibrations.

  • Any plants can be kept in the north-west direction. The ideal ones are those coloured blue and white.

  • South-east is considered to be the direction of fire. Herbs and lush green plants should be grown here. A citrus fruit tree is auspicious here.

  • South-west is considered to be the direction of earth. Any plants associated with rocks can be grown here.
