Corn is packed with Vitamin C

Corn is high in nutrients. A few of these important nutrients are:

1) Thiamin (vitamin B1) which is used in the metabolism of carbohydrates.
2) Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) which helps with physiological functions.
3) Folate which helps the generation of new cells – especially important before and during pregnancy.

One cup of corn provides 18.4 per cent of the daily recommendation of fibre. This is one of the biggest benefits of corn. Fibre has been shown to help lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of colon cancer. Fibre is also useful in lowering blood sugar levels in diabetics.
