Nature Cure Hospital at Jayanagar ropes in nature's secrets to cure
longstanding ailments. The Father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi advocated
Naturopathy as one of the Indian systems of medicine. The Nature Cure
Hospital in Jayanagar has been treating patients on naturopathic lines
for more than three decades now.
Naturopathy is cheaper and within the reach of the average
patient. Naturopathy means regulation of diet and constructive
habits. It involves fasting, mud applications, massage, steam
bath, sun bath and hip bath. Natural elements like earth, water,
air and sunlight play a significant role in Naturopathy.
Started in a rental building in April 1966 by Karnataka Prakruthi
Chikitsa Prachar Trust, the Nature Cure Hospital has a record
of treating longstanding chronic diseases, especially high blood
pressure, rheumatism, chronic headache, asthma, gastritis, malaria,
obesity and typhoid. The hospital has 30 beds. Former Union Minister
for Health, Dr Karan Singh inaugurated the hospital in its
own building in 1975.
 Dr
P V Narayan Reddy and his wife, Dr V Kamala, are in charge
at the hospital. Dr Reddy has been honored with the Patanjali Award
by the State Government.
Former President of India, V V Giri and Karnataka's former
Minister for Health, Siddaveerappa were also treated at the hospital
and had praised its services. Training classes in yoga are held here
daily.
For in-patients, general wards, special/single bed, independent room
categories and cottages are available from Rs 75 to Rs 400 per day.
Children are not allowed to stay with the patient but an adult attendant
can stay with the patient. "More than 3,000 out-patients and 600 in-patients
are treated here every year. Poor patients are treated free of cost
here," Dr Narayana Reddy told bangalorebest.com.

Of late, modern equipment and well equipped rooms have been added
to the hospital. The hospital is open from 6:30 am to 10 am and 2:30
pm to 5 pm.
