Snakes
in a busy, bustling metropolis? How often would a city dweller get
bitten by a snake? Well, Dr. Anish, an expert in traditional snakebite
medicine has cured as many as 15,000 patients. Many
of the victims were on the verge of death with acute symptoms of snakebite,
but the doctor says not a single patient lost her/his life.
Dr. Anish learned how to make snakebite medicines from his father.
In fact, his family has been treating snakebite victims for 200
years.
He says, "In case of a snakebite, the first thing one should do is
immobilise the victim's body. Then, leaving three-finger space,
tie two tourniquets above and below the snakebite. The tourniquet
should not be too tight or too loose. If it's too tight it will lead
to gangrene, if it's too loose the person will die."
Recalling an earlier case the doctor said, "A victim of viper bite
was suffering from chronic gangrenous condition and he lost all hope
of getting cured. At last, he came to our ayurvedic centre. Within
two months he was totally cured."
He
himself collects the venom and snake fat from various kinds
of snakes and with the help of 64 herbs he makes medicines
for snakebites. These medicines prepared by him are universal in nature.
They can also be given for other diseases such as skin diseases
and diabetes.
He says, " These medicines have no side effects. They can be kept under
normal conditions and there is no need of refrigeration. Modern allopathic
treatment costs around Rs 15,000, whereas ayurvedic treatment costs
around Rs 5,000," he added.
"The proper medicine and management is very important for snakebite
treatment. Traditional medicines are effective not only in the case
of snakebite but also in curing other diseases," says the doctor.
In
the event of a snakebite, don't panic. Just stay calm and drop in
