What is Su Jok and the different levels in Su jok
Su jok therapy uses the hand and the foot (hence its name: Su - a hand, Jok - a foot) as a remote control to direct bio-energy processes in organism. This method is based on eliminating disproportion in energy balance. Such disproportion accompanies every physical or mental disorder and in a way are usually their cause. This therapy makes use of various methods like: acupressure, acupuncture using needles on miniature energy centres of the hand and the foot, magnetic therapy etc. Unlike classical Chinese acupuncture and other methods of eastern medicine, Su jok therapy has an extraordinary theoretical basis. It is a safe and uncomplicated way of treatment because it is only the hand and the foot that function as the basis of treatment, not the whole body.

Once an idea occurred to Professor Park Jae Woo, which would not let him sleep: man could not have appeared on the Earth without efficient means supporting his health. Later he came to the conclusion that these are the hand and the foot. They have two functions: first they are the means of the sense of touch and of support and second they function preventively. This conclusion was supported by the discovery of an analogy between the hand and the human body.

Basic system of analogy on the hand
When looking for the corresponding points, we put the hand with the palm facing. The index finger of the right hand and the little finger of the left hand correspond to the right arm. The middle finger of the right hand and the ring finger of the left hand correspond to the right leg. The ring finger of the right hand and the middle finger of the left hand correspond to the left leg. The ball of a thumb corresponds to the chest and the palm as a whole is related to the area of abdomen.

Basic system of analogy on the foot
The system of analogy on the foot is based on the same principles as the basic system of analogy on the hand.
The foot is, in its structure, similar to the hand, which resembles the body. The sole is highly stimulated by natural motion; therefore its system of analogy is particularly effective.

The Indian Institute for Su jok research and Onnuri medicines
The year 2000 was a very important year for Dr Lakshmi NarayanPrabhu and Dr Meera who started Indian Institute for Su Jok Research and Onnuri Medicines in Bangalore. IISROM efforts to provide medical and scientific evidence, functioning and curative properties of the physical and metaphysical theories in SU JOK therapy and Onnuri Medicine postulated by Prof. Park Jae Woo.

IISROM is a non-profitable, service oriented, educational, research training and certification organisation. Its main aim is to provide total health care to the public. It draws its roots from the works of Professor Park Jae Woo, the originator of Su jok Therapy and Onnuri Medicine. There are only two centres in India one in Bangalore and the other in Chennai. Ms Meera is the only woman lecturer on this subject in the whole of this continent. This institute is recognised internationally and also by the Indian government. Dr. Prabhu says that "SuJok is an alternative therapy. Most of our cases are cardiac arrests and the therapy has been very successful in treating the patients. We have never got any complaints from any of our patients."
