Karnataka's total agricultural/horticultural area measures
up to 106,00,000 hectares. The state's equitable climate, a
network of well developed roads, cold storages at strategic
locations, conveniently placed ports and airports have all contributed
to making it a prime area for agro-business activities.
Karnataka Agro Industries Corporation Limited is one of the
important organizations dealing with every aspect of agricultural
and horticultural production in the state. Established in 1967,
KAIC staff of about 1450 comprises highly skilled and experienced
technical personnel.

- Supply and sale of fertilisers
- Supply of pesticides and bio-pesticides
- Trade and supply of seeds for both agriculture and horticulture
- Turn-Key agriculture projects including jobs like land
leveling,tank distillation, water supply, bore wells drilling
- Service, repair and maintenance of heavy agricultural
equipment by its own workshops throughout the State.
- Fabrication and sale of farm machinery through a network
of spare parts depots located throughout the State
PRODUCTS
- Agro Fruit Processing : KAIC has its own fruits factory
located at Bangalore and mobile fruit processing units are
sent out to doorsteps of the farmers. Processed fruit is
manufactured under the brand name 'Gala'.
- Export of various agricultural and horticultural commodities.
- Import of international brands of seeds, pesticides,
agricultural equipment.
KAIC has also taken up floriculture development in and around
Bangalore. The first floriculture auction house in Asia
has been set up at the KAIC premises along with a 400 acre
floriculture Agro-park project. It is also into the manufacture
of Sericulture Chemicals and equipment that will be of help
to Sericulturists of Karnataka. Other projects include setting
up of quick freeze units; cold storages; mechanised chicken
processing and prawn farming, green-houses. KAIC is involved
in almost every sector of rural Karnataka and is an ideal
