Blending art with clocks, Titan Industries Limited has
introduced 'Raza timepieces' or wall clocks recently
in Bangalore. The art work has been lent
to the Titan clocks by renowned artist, Sayed Haider Raza.
Developed around the theme of the "Bindu"- the seed
or the big black point that is the very genesis of creation
-the Titan Raza collection has five models, built around the
three basic designs.
The five variants of wall clocks have been adapted from Raza's
three paintings based on the "Bindu" motif:
The three paintings are, Shanti Bindu, signifying peace, Kal
Bindu, signifying time,
and Panch Bhoot signifying the five elements. Rajini Hebbar,
artist and long time associate of Raza, released the Titan's
five model clocks at Renaissance Art Gallery in Bangalore.
"Raza is a universal artist whose roots lie in his soil
but his antenna is cosmic," Rajini said on the occasion.
Raza, a universally acclaimed contemporary Indian artist and
the recipient of numerous awards, including the Padma Shree
and the Kalidas Samman, now lives and works in Paris.
The Titan Raza collection is a significant addition to Titan's
range of decorative timepieces. "As we have done with
watches, we have attempted to elevate timepieces from being
purely functional to objects of home décor. And what
better to symbolise this than Titan Raza clocks, an inspired
blend of art and
precision," said the Vice President of Titan Industries,
Sales and Marketing, Bijou Kurien. He pointed out that the
Titan Raza clocks are an inspired blend of art and craft.
Only limited pieces were available in each design of Raza wall
clocks. The Titan Raza clocks are priced between Rs 2,500 and
Rs 3,500 and will be available at select World of Titan showrooms.
