It
is an ardent desire of everyone to beautify their interiors
and make it look stylish. And having a marble flooring could
add elegance and make it stand apart.
Marbles are metamorphic rocks caused from the re-crystallization
of limestone and are capable of taking polish. It is an expressive
material and by its various types can make your ambience look
sophisticated or simple, warm or cool, elegant or rustic,
sumptuous or minimalist.
Marble World and Marble Centre situated on Bannerghatta
Road are the No.1 traders of marbles in South India. They
are highly acclaimed as traders of high quality Indian and
imported marbles for homes, shopping complexes and corporate
buildings.
Marble World and Marble Centre were first conceived i n
1989-90 by Shri Ramdeo Ladha, the renowned Accountancy
wizard from Rajasthan. In just over a decade they rose to
become the top traders in marbles. Now it has become an obvious
choice for all leading architects, interior decorators, designers,
construction companies, etc., to visit this place for their
requirements of marble.
They get these marbles from mine owners, processing units
and from the overseas market. They deal in 70 to 100 varieties
of marbles which are elegant and beautiful. Out of those,
some of them are very rare and fast moving like the pure white
called Stauario. Other than Italy, Greece, Spain, Egypt
and Turkey are also leading suppliers of exclusive marbles. They
range from Rs 200 to 800 per square foot.
I ndia
too has a good variety of marbles which is in the range of
Rs 45 to 250 per square foot, out of which the Indian Green
Marble from Rajasthan is famous in the world market. The latest
in the Indian lists are the Black and Gold Portora
and Golden Beige.
The price of the marble depends on the demand it has in the
present market and the processing cost. It is analyzed by
the miners and fixed.
Maintaining your polished marble floors:
Restore the polished marble or granite finish periodically,
as necessary. This approach will keep one's stone looking
new.
Maintain a commercial floor finish on the marble surface,
using sealers and regular maintenance procedures. Be sure
to select sealers and waxes with caution, as they may contain
ingredients which could dull or stain the floor. Before application,
clean the floor with soapy water and let it dry. Apply two
coats of sealer in quick succession, using sealer brushes
or pump sprayers. After 30 minutes, remove the excess sealer
with a dry cloth. Maintain the marble with the daily application
of water and soap solution and the use of high-speed buffers,
and clean thoroughly once a month.
Periodically clean the surface with a water-detergent mixture,
applying no sealers or finishes. The highly-polished marble
will eventually develop a low-luster finish.
Cleaning agents which could severely damage marble surfaces
Scouring-type cleaners (steel wool)
Acid based cleaning agents
Waxes and finishes requiring high-speed buffers
Solvents, waxes or polishes containing colour agents
Oils, turpentine
