Ceramic Tiles require very little effort to keep clean. A bit
of care will keep your tiles looking like new for many years.
Glazed floor tiles are best kept clean with regular sweeping
or vacuuming and washing with a solution of warm water and a
soapless detergent. Most ceramic tile retailers stock cleaners
specifically manufactured for Ceramic Tiles which do not leave
residues which can make the floor slippery, dull the floor or
even trap dirt.
Glazed wall tiles require little maintenance, however
bathroom tiles need a little more care as soap can build up
leaving a film which detracts from the tiling's appearance.
Wall tiles should be wiped regularly with a soft cloth to remove
soap before it dries. Again warm water and a soapless detergent
will ensure a gleaming surface. Harsh abrasive cleaners should
be avoided particularly on decorated tiles. Citrus based cleaners
have become very popular in recent times.
The glaze on ceramic tile is actually glass. If you treat
your tiles as you would your glassware, you will not be disappointed!
