 Bangalore's
giant outdoor stadium was the proud venue of the 1996 National Games.
Apart from a soccer field of international standards, the stadium
has an Olympic class track and field facility. The stadium has an
synthetic track for athletics with a giant screen for display and
floodlights which are used during major events. The stadium has a
seating capacity of 40,000.

Authority of India [SAI]
Located in the 'Jnanabharathi' campus of Bangalore University
in an area of 81.2 acres, it has excellent infrastructure conforming
to international standards for athletes. The centre holds the majority
of national camps for events like Olympics, World Cup and Asian
Games. It also conducts two-year Diploma courses in Athletics.
The complex has residential and sports facilities for students, including
facilities for outdoor-games, staff quarters and a clubhouse. SAI
is now focussing on major aspects like sports medicine, nutrition
and diet to help the sportspersons to perform even better.
Sure
Started by Bangalore's ace athletes Sunil Abraham
and wife Reeth Abraham in 1987, it provides the right atmosphere
for budding athletes and free training for promising sportspersons.
It has a weight training facility with the required athletic equipments
for competitions. SURE has produced many athletes of national and
international repute, including Ashwini Nachappa and Reeth
Abraham herself.
