G o-Karting
has come of age and how! Bangalore discovers this adventurous
passion, with three full-fledged Go-Karting tracks becoming
favourite weekend hangouts. The very first karting track came
up in Whitefield, located conveniently near ITPL, followed
by the large and immensely popular track in R.T.Nagar.
The newest addition that completes the trio is at Palace
Grounds, with its inviting large track and go-karts just
waiting to go vroooom!
Go-karting is a new entrant onto the Indian entertainment
scene, and the perfect outlet for those who seek that extra
bit of thrill to spice up ordinarily drab lives. Go-Karting
requires no special training beforehand, contrary to some
of the fears people harbor, it is quite safe and enjoyable.
Everyone is welcome to have a go at go-karting and try their
hand at maneuvering their way thorough a few winding laps

racing tracks are all standard in length varying from 350-400
Mts. that constitutes a single lap. The costs for Go-Karting
are quite evenly pitted at Rs 100 for 6 laps, and a few places
also offer subsidized rates for their members. Their most

for the daredevils of the present generation.
The racing track at R.T.Nagar has some added challenge for
the pro, as it conducts Go- karting races over every weekend,

roots in this sport. Race car driving is a natural progression
after the adrenaline rush o ne
gets in the mini speed monsters of go-karts. Go-karts travel
at a pace of around 70-80 Km / hr, and are often low slung
cars equipped with a 4 stroke engine. Non geared and quickly
mastered, nevertheless a lot of forethought goes into ensuring
absolute safety for the driver. The features include a solid
reinforced protective frame; tracks built for excellent traction
lined with tyre walls and a guardrail as precautions. Each
driver has to compulsorily wear a helmet, loose clothing is
discouraged.
