The Karnataka Government run wildlife and eco tourism company has thirteen resorts in all providing a wide range of outdoor activities to keep the adventurous spirit alive and kicking. White Water Rafting at Kali Adventure Camp, Elephant rides at Dubare and Kabini, Joy Fishing and Coracle rides at Bheemeshwari, Para-sailing at Devbagh, are few of the many attractions offered by the Jungle Resorts.

Bannerghatta Nature Camp_________________

Located just 25 km from the Bangalore and sprawling over 25,000 acres, Bannerghatta Nature Camp offers Nature Lovers an experience of a life time. As the camp is open throughout the year, it can prove to be nice way to spend your weekends amidst the flora and fauna. Major tourist attractions include Lion, Tiger and Bear Safaris.

The camp has eight luxurious twin bedded cottages, Swiss tents to make your stay comfortable and memorable. You can also choose to stay in the two newly added log-huts or if you are there to enjoy with a large group of friends then you can opt for the dormitory which can accommodate upto 20 persons at a time. The camp also has a one of its own open dining area called "Gol Ghar".

  By Road: The Camp is situated inside the Bannerghatta Biological Park, about    25 km south of Bangalore on Bannerghatta Road.

Kabini River Lodge___________________

This former hunting lodge of the erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore is secludedon the southern fringe of Karnataka's Rajiv Gandhi National Park, 220 kms from Bangalore. Spread over 55 acres, the lodge's lush green environs on the banks of the Kabini is home to elephants, gaur, chital, sambar and sloth bears, the giant Malabar squirrel, the four horned antelope and well over a hundred avian species. Top of the billing are the big cats: the leopard and the tiger.

For accommodation, the choice ranges from 14 rooms in the luxuriously appointed colonial lodges, to the 6 twin-bedded cottages that overlook the river. Lovers of the outdoors can sleep in any one of five tented cottages.

K Gudi Wilderness Camp ___________________

Travelling towards B.R.Hills we could feel fresh mountain air, could see the scenic green environs, the thick tropical jungle life would be interesting if we could go and discover it! Feel your mind, body and soul harmonies in peace here!! It's indeed paradise redefined!! The K.Gudi Camp is located 3375 ft above sea level and is interspersed with valleys, streams and places of scenic beauty, spread over an area of 525 sq kms. There are three different options: twin-bedded tented cottages, log huts on stilts and at the former Maharaja's hunting lodge, room for a total of around 35 to 40 guests. A bar and a multi-cuisine dining is at the open-sided Gol Ghar restaurant.

Kali Adventure Camp___________________

I am sure all of us love to play with water, right so why don't we now travel towards the stunning topography and the surging currents of the Kali River. Weaver birds working at their nests, kingfishers and egrets dotting the river, cormorants wheeling over head and then the sudden splash of a crocodile slithering off a rocky outcrop and into the depths.

Jeep Safaris and nature walks, trekking and camping are the means of introduction to Kali's treasure trove of flora and fauna. The Black Panther can be seen slinking through the foliage. An exotic option is a visit to the Siddi African tribal hamlets. Birdwatching and crocodile spotting are amply rewarding and for those whom a breakneck speed sets the place for a good holiday, there is river rafting in the company of qualified guides.

Devbagh Beach Resort___________________

Well another great place to visit is the Devbagh Beach Resort, with its shores lapped by the azure Arabian Sea, offers a host of leisure pursuits apart from swimming and sunbathing, and scenic sunsets. There are cruises up the river Kali that give a chance to get acquainted with the local people, their customs, folklore and crafts such as the sandalwood carvings of Kumta.

Devbagh has excellent scuba diving, a facility run by trainers affiliated to PADI, (The Professional Association of Diving Instructors - USA,) whose primary concerns are the safety of those who dive with them as well as fostering their awareness of environmental conservation. Deep within the whispers of a casurina grove growing all the way down to the water are thatched-roof log cottages on stilts, their seclusion is complete. Each cottage has a twin bed accommodation.

Dubare Elephant Camp_______________________

How would you like to spend a day or two with the largest terrestrial mammal? Or feel the cold water of the Cauvery river splash as you go rafting down the river. Well look no further! Situated on the banks of River Cauvery, Dubar Elephant camp offers a unique opportunity to watch and learn about the Asiatic Elephants from close quarters.

One could watch the Mahouts give the elephants a special scrub-bath and also get a chance to feed them. Take an Elephant ride into the Dubare Reserve Forest and experience the wilderness from a different "height".
Although the camp is open throughout the year, Rafting is available only during the rainy months of June, July, August and September. For those opting for less adventurous ride, there is Coracle Boat Ride which is provided between the months of November and May.

It's time to get your Fishing Rods out and go angling for the largest fishwater game fish- the mighty Mahseer. Situated 95 km from Bangalore, Galibore Fishing Camp is in the middle if wilderness overlooking the River Cauvery, surrounded by wooded hills. Experience the river on a coracle. Trek the trails leading to the hills across. Spend the night lit by hurricane lamp and savour the ethnic cuisine.
