Atria Convergence technologies a new venture from Atria group, inaugurated itsHybrid Fibre Coaxial Network Operations centre in city. The centre shortly aims to cater to the widespread deployment of broadband covering Bangalore and other major cities, targeting over 1,50,000 broadband customers in 2001-2002. This technology will allow for interactive entertainment services like web TV, movie-on-demand, gaming, business services for corporates such as e-commerce, e-learning, e-health, basic telephony, VOIP, Video conferencing etc.

"At this centre, voice, video, and data converge and are converted into optical signal, these are then transported through fibre optic cables to a kerb close to the end users. This optical signal is picked up at the kerb, converted to RF and is then delivered to the end user through the widely prevalent RF signal, " said Sunder Raju, Managing Director of Atria Convergence technologies Pvt. Ltd.

"The end user is enabled to get connectivity through the low cost co-axial cable, which is now capable of delivering an enriched broadband experience. Our focus will be on strong strategic service acquisition relationships, giving the consumers enriched broadband experience and ensuring affordable high quality last mile connectivity," he added. A state of the art call centre is being set up to provide high quality customer service. A dedicated emergency squad to provide 99 percent reliability of services is also strengthening this. Currently, Atria convergence Technologies is capable of delivering over 100 high quality voice, video, data channels through its 860 MHz distribution network.
