Crimson Art Gallery is one of the
oldest surviving galleries in the city. It was established in 1989.
The monsoon sale held in the month of July is a crowd puller. About
eight exhibitions are annually hosted here. Artists like Anwar Khan
and Yusuf Arakal have exhibited there work here.

the gallery gives the right kind of settings for arts display. The
gallery has leapt all inter-cross and cross-cultural boundaries and
has invited corporate sponsors in the past. Big names as well as young
have displayed their work here.

Stretching to 2,500 Sqft, the gallery is more
like a warehouse with a Mezzanine Floor. The floor is used for smaller
works. While the huge space available exhibit paintings, sculptures
and installations as well as for workshops or discussions. The emphasis
is again on Indian contemporary art. Artists like Vasudev, Akbar Padamsee
and Ajit Dubey have exhibited here.

One of Bangalores youngest
art galleries, this gallery showcases the artwork of lesser known
artists and relatively affordable artwork. Its not just paintings
and sculptures that find their way here but antiques, handicrafts
and furniture too are regular items of interest. The gallery is naturally
lit and offers 1,800 sqft of space. It is centrally air-conditioned.

Situated on the outskirts of Bangalore, Sara
Arakkal is located at picturesque Brookefields. This gallery attracts
artists from across the country, especially those from the south.
The gallery aims to promote young and fresh talent. Artists are helped
from scratch that is right from creation of a portfolio till final
display. A division of Arts in Crafts, this gallery showcases contemporary
Indian Art. Affordability is a primary concern here.
A collage of exhibits from well known Indian painters and sculptors
are displayed across 1,500sqft.
The works of eminent artists like Yusuf Arakkal, SG Vasudev, Laxman
Goud, Balan Nambiar, Basuki Dasgupta, Anuradha Nalapat, Babu Namboodri,
Jatin Das and Surekha have been featured here. Available at the gallery
are limited editions of acclaimed paintings that have been reproduced
in different media. Gallerie Sara Arakkal also has an art museum.
Exhibitions are held once in three months.

Renaissance sells art in the range
of Rs 1,500 to Rs 1, 00,000. Sudeep Roy, Milind Nayak and Suresh Jayaram
are some of the famous artists who have exhibited here. The gallery
is committed to encourage new talent. Atleast work of one or two new
artists is promoted here every year. On an average six exhibitions
are held annualy.

The gallery was founded in August 2003 by Renu
Geor. The gallery hosts up to six exhibitions every year. Work of
both seasoned and fresh talent excelling in contemporary art are given
preference. Dhiraj Chaudhury, Yuriko Lochan and Mohan Singh are few
of the artists who exhibited here. On display are antiques. Usually
affordable art pieces are on display than the expensive ones.
Venkatappa Art Gallery

The government-owned Venkatappa Art Gallery is set in spacious ground
bordering Cubbon Park. One has to make way through a moat to enter
the gallery.
The entire first floor of this spacious gallery is dedicated to the
paintings of the artist after whom the gallery is named. K Venkatappa
was a famous artist of the 20 century. He hailed from a family of
court painters and during his time received patrons from the Mysore
royal family. Its central location and affordable cost makes it an
ideal choice for student artists. The first floor permanently exhibits
sculptures by Major Rajaram. Scholarships in his name are offered
to art students. The second floor exhibits the work of the late K
K Hebbar and his excellent line drawings.
