Maithry
and Manasa - A talented duo
Maithry and Manasa are very talented dancers and sisters too. They hail
from the family of the Haridasas, whose contributions in the field of
philosophy, art, culture and music are well known. They are the granddaughters
of 'Nadagandharva', the late Dr. T V Karigiri Achar who penned all his
kritis under the name of Sreenidhi Vithala.
Maithry
She
is one of the talented dancers of Bangalore. At a very young age she was
interested in dance. Her mother Bhageerathi, an experienced dancer, nurtured
Maithry's interest. Later, Premakumari and Shakuntala R. Prabhat guided
Maithry in Bharatnatyam. Maithry has passed the senior dance examination
conducted by the Government of Karnataka. She has performed in several
dance ballets and various dance competitions conducted by several organisations
of the State. Presently, she is being trained under the able guidance
of
B Banumathi.

Manasa
Like her sister, she too is a gifted dancer. Her mother Bhageerathi
kindled her interest in dance and moulded her in the right way. She has
participated in the dance drama, 'Buddhamitra' directed by M C Venkatesh
of Doordarshan. She has performed in various international dance ballets.
Manasa has also learnt classical Carnatic music.
Vani Ganapathy
Bharathanatyam Dancer Vani
Ganapathy, dancer and interior designer, is grace personified. Initiated
by her mother into the art of Bharathanatyam at the tender age of four,
her first stage performance, 'Arangetram', was at seven under her
first guru Smt. Rajalakshmi in Calcutta and there has been no looking
back since then. She has been recognized as a 'Raj Bhavan Artiste' by
the Governor of Maharashtra and has danced in honour of their majesties
the king and queen of Nepal among others. After she won the Miss Teen
Princess India, she went on to make her debut in the film world and
later became an artist of distinction. For the past twenty years she has
been learning from Guru Kalyana Sundaram of Rajarajeshwari Kala
Mandir at Mumbai.
For her each day is a new day, she does not have any kind of routine or
pattern, it is never like a 9 to 5 job. Vani Ganapathy runs a dance institution,
'Sanchari', where she trains enthusiastic and dedicated youngsters.
She believes rhythm is in built into every human being, it's part of being
born. The dance school has about 15 or 16 children presently. She also designs
homes, giving interiors her intuitive sense of finesse and elegance. Though
not an avid party-goer, she loves party cooking and playing golf. She pursues
a variety of activities that are not time bound and which gives her the
freedom to learn and enjoy.
