Even today, 40 per cent of the people of Khurja are engaged in the occupation of making Khurja artefacts. But most of the artisans are shifting over to other occupations since they are not finding their job profitable. The CCIE showroom Manager, S Mukherji told bangalorebest.coShow pottery and jars in Khurja craftm that the process of making Khurja ceramic pottery includes baking the raw artefacts at a temperature of 1,200 degrees, and no lead is used in the manufacture to give the colour, hence it can also be used for cooking.

The small village, Khurja has also produced national award winning artisans like late Rashid Bhai. The artefacts are priced between Rs 30 and Rs 2,500.

Just walk into CCIE showroom at M.G. Road and you will sure find it worth it.
