Poettery's Creations

A dining table with wrought iron and glassThe furniture that was exhibited at Safina Plaza in the city recently, was aesthetic, contemporary and novel. Glass, wrought iron and clay were the key materials used in the making of the furniture. The wonderful furniture was exhibited by Poettery, formed by three Delhi based artisans cum architects Anubir, Bhavana and Sarbajeet.

Sarbajeet Singh who is a chemical engineer has textured, etched and sculpted the clay and finished it with a special secret process evolved into a lifestyle furniture. Connoisseurs who look beyond the ordinary are sure to fall for this furniture for its novelty looks and the artistic touches.

A tea table with a mural in background. At the exhibition, lamp shades were also done in silk, cotton, jute and cane among other materials. The furniture items include tables, mirror frames, wall murals, lamps, lamp shades and urns of different shapes and sizes. They were priced between Rs 5,000 and Rs 20,000. Poettery's aim is to make products that do not offend the sensibilities of customers. "We have tried to retain neutral colours," Sarbajeet told bangalorebest.com at the exhibition.

The coloursPoettery's creations at the exhibition used on the artefacts are of the earth, mud, green, and the occasional blue. The aesthetic appeal is enhanced by the earthly colours, natural looks, original designs and creative finishes. Especially the tables are very contemporary in the combination of clay and glass. Poettery has matched the murals and mirrors, (used as table tops) in the form of beautiful furniture. The lamps are of various kinds here: Table lamps, tall floor pedestal lamps.

Poettery was started in 1989 by the three artisans. It conducts exhibitions all over India.. The company has its sales activities abroad also. Poettery's success story is an inspiration to many local artisans across the country. Tempted to meet the artisans and their mod furniture? You may contact them at:
