It
is all about women and their dreams that Rekha Rodwittiya
depicts in her works. A Baroda based artist, Rekha's paintings
were exhibited from February 10-22, 2001, at Sakshi Art Gallery
in the city. Rekha's works depict women in nudity, images
that convey poignant messages about women to art lovers.
The colours in the art works range from the light to the
bright. Pithy pencil sketches are also on display. In other
paintings she depicts nature and birds. In yet another painting,
she shows how a woman dreams of life's necessities like food.
One more work, a life sized one, shows a mother delivering
a baby.
Her works emerge as being quite different when compared to
recent exhibitions held by many other artists in the city.
The present exhibition includes works executed during a three
month "Transcultural drawing Residency" hosted by
CAIR and NWAB in association with the John Moores University,
Liverpool, England.
